Hidden beaches in Mallorca | Cala Brafi and Cala Estreta

Mallorca has hundreds of calas and beaches along the coast but it’s hard to find secluded beaches without crowds, especially in summer. I visited these two calas one day of July while Ellen was scuba diving near Portopetro. I was almost alone in both Cala Brafi and Cala Estreta, two hidden beaches in Mallorca.
If you’re looking for a calm small cala, these two are great options. They are not as epic as Calo des Moró or other famous calas but they are unquestionably cute. Getting to these calas takes less than 1 hour in and out, plus the extra time if you swim or have your snacks there.

How to get to these hidden beaches in Mallorca
Both calas are close to each other and the best option to get to Cala Estreta is through Cala Brafi first. The first thing to do is to park our vehicle in Carrer del Mascarell in Cala Marçal.
From here, we follow Carrer de la Fotja, a paved road that soon brings us to a fence that is closed off to cars, since it’s a private area.
However, there is a path open for pedestrians. The path is straight until the end, where you need to walk on some earth and rocks before reaching Cala Brafi.
Cala Brafi
Coming from the parking, it only takes 15 minutes walking to get to Cala Brafi. The cala has stones, crystal clear waters, and an abandoned fisherman house.
There is no shade or bars, so bring your umbrella and your own food if you’re going to spend time here! When I visited this cala there were 5-6 people having a picnic and sunbathing. Nobody else. If you feel like walking a bit more, move behind the little house to start the walk towards the next cala.
Cala Estreta
Ok pay attention. There are two options to arrive to Cala Estreta. One option is a pass through the bush. The path is not so clear and there are branches on it but I saw people coming from it. The other option, that I did, was to walk along the coast. In case you try this second option, there is no proper path and trail shoes or sneakers are recommended.
Both options take 20-25 mins and both lead you to Cala Estreta. The good thing about the second option (coastal walk) is that the views of the cala are way better. In my opinion, a circular loop (returning through the bush) would be the best option.
Cala Estreta is wonderful and it’s probably empty when you go. It’s actually a sandy beach, with only 2 meters of sand! and the ground of the cove is sand. Surprisingly, the rocks on both sides of the waters are flat, and laying the towels there is easy. Again, there is no shade or facilities.
Another fact is that the area where these two calas are, you are free to fly the drone (if you have requested the permit to fly in Mallorca). So you can take photos like mine legally.
