Looking for the best night views of Seoul, South Korea? While there are many great viewpoints of Seoul, like from Namsan Tower or the Lotte Tower, one of my favorites is from Naksan Park (낙산공원). Plus – it’s free! This is a short post about our recommendation to visit the park in the evening, walk along Seoul’s old city walls, and enjoy unmatched views of Seoul’s skyline lit up at night. This activity would make a great date night.

Take in the views while walking along Seoul’s old city walls
The Seoul City Walls were built during the Joseon Dynasty in order to protect Seoul from invaders. The walls stretch across Seoul for 18.6 km along Seoul’s four inner mountains, one being Naksan Mountain. The Seoul City Wall Trail is divided into six sections, including the one in Naksan Park.
Start the hike from Dongdaemun to Hyehwamun, or go in the reverse. Some of the best night views of Seoul are on the downhill walk toward Hyehwamun.
How to get to Naksan Park
Naksan Park is located in the Jongno neighborhood of Seoul. If you’re going to hike our recommended way from Dongdaemun to Hyehwamun:
- Take the subway line 1 or 4 to Dongdaemun station (동대문역)
- Go out Exit 9 and to the east, you’ll see Heunginjimun Gate and the City Wall trail to the north. You will need to cross the street
- You should be able to see the walls right away, but if you need a specific location to put into your Naver or Google Map, you can use “Seoul City Wall Museum” or 한양도성 박물관
- The hike up to the top is only about 20 minutes
- Continue to walk along the walls downhill towards Hyehwamun Gate 혜화문
Although we recommend doing it like above, you can also do this hike in reverse from Hyehwamun to Dongdaemun. For that, take subway line 4 and to Hyehwa and take Exit 2.
Have a drink near Naksan Park
Enjoy a coffee, tea, or alcoholic beverage at one of the many spots around the park. Many of them will have some amazing views. We stopped at Gaeppul 개뿔 which was along the Seoul City Wall trail, right on the outside of Naksan Park. We enjoyed some fresh beers and stunning views of Seoul.
Seoul is a busy and gigantic city with lots of movement. But up on top of Naksan Mountain you can feel a sense of peace and quiet while looking down at the busy city below. Thus making it a romantic date spot. Although a short post, I hope you enjoyed and visit Naksan Park!
