We were supposed to visit the set of my religious daily under the sun bed viewing show at age 15 when we were first in Sydney but time caught up with us and it became solidly reserved for the trip back.
Palm Beach is posh. Its where all the people with money have their weekend houses. And rightly so as its beautiful. It really is a surfers beach (But I did'nt see Donald's grandson, the blond one) Dissapointingly however there is no real sign of the fact that it's the set of THE 'Surf Club' in Home and away. If it wasn't for all the graffiti by the teenage Irish followers, you would be forgiven for thinking you had the wrong place.
You can buy refreshements and the cheapest tea and coffee in Oz, but not inside!!!! No Alf to scowl at you, no dramas to evesdrop on and no weight lifters to watch! But the beach was sandy and the sea wet and Summer Bay was everything we now expect from most Auzzie beaches.(Except I did'nt want to live there like I had when I was 15) Our plan to sleep in the Summer bay carpark for our last night in Marvin crumbled. This was one place we would surely get arrested for being trampy travellers. The locals would not find it funny to see us set up camp in their playground!
5 days ahead of target we made our way into the city of Sydney with heavy hearts. The search for Marvins new parents would begin the next day and the end of Australia was clearly in sight.

After a year in South and Central America we landed in Sydney and were kicked into touch by the reverse culture shock immediately. 3 months back in reality, we worked, we saved, bought Marvin, our campervan and prepared for our epic Road trip across Australia. Surely 7 months will be enough!
